Hello. Most likely, you’re here because you’ve enrolled in English 211. I’m Sarah Doetschman, your writing instructor this semester. Welcome to the course!
There are 3 things you should do in order to get started:
Step 1: Send me an email from your UA Gmail account (your address should look something like “firstname.lastname@example.org”). The subject line should say “Firstname’s Introduction” (use the name you want me to call you). In the body of the email, please identify yourself by your full name and give me some way to remember who you are. You can call me Sarah.
Step 2: Download and read the syllabus and course schedule. This is important, as these lay out what is required of you. You are responsible for all of this information. Make sure you understand the details regarding grades of “Incomplete” as well as what is needed to pass this course. You should also take a look at the pages located beneath the “Getting Started” heading in the menu at the top of the website. Once you feel you understand how this class operates, you can begin your first assignment (Go to Lesson 1).
Step 3: Access your UAF email account (via alaska.edu/google) and find Google Drive.?Create a folder with? “ENGL 211 Your Name” as the title of the folder. (All of your assignments for the entire semester will be placed in this folder.) “Share” the folder with me via the sharing option in Google Drive.
Once you finish, place your first assignment from Lesson 1 (the document should be titled “IW-1 Lastname”) inside this folder. See How to Submit Work for more detailed instructions.
